Talking with Your Child

Even before birth parents are encouraged to start talking to their babies to begin to bond! Throughout childhood, and our entire lives, communication is key in our relationships with our children. Developing open effective communication, both talking and listening, takes work, but can bring some of the greatest rewards of parenting! And that bond that began before birth can grow stronger through the years!

This section offers information and tips on how to talk and listen to our children, how to use praise effectively, and how and when to give appropriate choices. Remember…it may not always be easy, but it is definitely worth the time and effort!

PAL wants to encourage and support you in becoming a more confident parent. Let's face it …when babies are born, they don't come with "instructions!" With today's stresses and problems we all just need a little help. PAL is designed to provide helpful assistance and information to moms, dads, grandparents, and relatives whose children are ages birth to twelve.
